American cyber security firm Resecurity claimed that personal information of about 81.5 crore people has been leaked. Online method of Aadhaar Lock
- Go to the official website of UIDAI (https://uidai.gov.in/).
- Go to My Aadhaar tab and click on Aadhaar Services section

- Here you have to enter 16 digit virtual ID.
- Enter OTP by clicking on Send OTP button.
Lock Aadhaar through SMS
- First of all, send SMS ‘GETOTP (last 4 digits of Aadhaar)’ to 1947 from the registered mobile number.
- When OTP comes, send another SMS
- Type ‘LOCKUID (last 4 digits of Aadhaar) (write the OTP received)’ and message it to 1947.
- After this UIDAI will send a confirmation message.
