Why should you update your Aadhar card?
As per the Aadhaar Enrollment and Update Regulations, 2016, Aadhaar holders are encouraged to update their identity and address proof documents every 10 years. Keeping these documents updated helps maintain the accuracy and authenticity of Aadhaar records. Residents who received their Aadhaar more than 10 years ago and have not updated their details since then are encouraged to do so. UIDAI has emphasized the importance of this update for better service delivery, making life easier and ensuring accurate authentication. A gazette notification issued recently also states that residents can “update” their documents on completion of every 10 years. Keeping the documents updated ensures that Aadhaar remains a reliable and useful tool for all its holders. “UIDAI has always encouraged residents to keep their Aadhaar documents updated, and the gazette notification is another step in that direction,” according to a press release from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on November 10, 2022. this
