Base locking process
- UIDAI Myadhaar For biometric lock on the portal,https://resident.uidai.gov.in/bio-lockvisit.
- Now click on the ‘Lock/Unlock Aadhaar’ option below.
- First of all, click on ‘Click here to generate VID’ and generate virtual ID.
- Once a virtual ID is formed, come back to the same page.
- Now click on ‘Next’ option. Select the lock base here and enter the required details.
- Now verify OTP by clicking on Send OTP.
- After verification your base will be biometric lock.
Do this lock through Maadhaar app too
- Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the Maadhaar app.
- Now log in from your registered mobile number to the app.
- After this, click on the ‘My Aadhaar’ icon.
- Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code and complete OTP verification.
- Click on the ‘Biometric Lock’ option to lock your base biometrics. This will lock your Aadhaar.
Biometrics lock facility through SMS

- If your phone number is linked to the one -one Aadhaar numbers, use the last 8 digits instead of the final 4 digits.
- Verify OTP through SMS.
