A major fire broke out at Jindal factory in Mundegam, Igatpuri taluka of Nashik district in Maharashtra this afternoon. According to information received from sources, the fire started due to explosion of the company’s boiler and many employees are still trapped inside. The sound of boiler explosion was so loud that it was heard in 20 to 25 nearby villages. As soon as the fire personnel came to know about the incident, the fire department team reached the spot and started trying to control the fire. In no time, the fire had assumed a gigantic form. Due to the raw material being kept in the same factory, the fire is spreading rapidly. It is expected that it will take a long time to control the fire.

As soon as Nashik Collector Gangadharan D and Superintendent of Police Shahji Umap got information about the fire, senior officers reached the spot. Nashik police said that a total of 9 people with serious burn injuries have been admitted to a private hospital. Fire tenders from Nashik Municipal Corporation and all major industries have reached the spot. There is often an explosion due to fire in the factory. Relief and rescue work is going on. The fire department and the police team are busy in evacuating the laborers trapped in the factory. This fire is so terrible that clouds of smoke are visible far and wide.
