New Delhi: In a landmark stride toward strengthening global academic collaboration, the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) has officially signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American University for Global Peace (AUGP), USA, and the United Nations University for Global Peace (UNUGP), USA. This pivotal agreement not only highlights the commitment to fostering international educational ties but also marks a significant upgrade for Sir Patrick Bijou and the AUGP. As the Governor of AUGP, Sir Patrick Bijou’s extensive experience in global finance and diplomacy is expected to play a critical role in steering this association to success.
The signing ceremony, held at Panchsheel Balak College in Noida, was a prestigious affair, graced by the presence of Principal H.E. Amb. Dr. Neeraj Tandan. A host of distinguished dignitaries attended the event, including His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Mark Burns—Advisor to Honorable US President Donald Trump—Honorable Judge Mr. Sunil Singh, senior IAS officers Mr. Brijender Goal and Mr. Himanshu, and international VIPs from the USA, Switzerland, Germany, Africa, and Russia.

The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) echoes a mutual commitment to ensure academic excellence, international collaboration, and cultural exchange, which is on the same page of a broader diplomatic vision to further boost Indo-US diplomatic understanding with meaningful partnerships.

Other dignitaries, including Dr. Ramwanth Gupta, H.E. Amb. Dr. Mukesh Kumar Jain, Aditya Shivhare, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Mr. Jose Charles Martin, and Mr. Siva were conferred with Awards of Excellence for their memorable contributions to global peace and humanitarian efforts.
Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Yecenia Sanchez got the Human Excellence Golden Award, and other accolades, including the Global Peace Ambassador Certificate of Excellence and Doctorate.
