The accident occurred near Noor Bazar on the draft Naubatpur road, 35 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar. The accident occurred due to a collision between an uncontrolled truck and a rickshaw. In this incident, seven passengers in a rickshaw died on the spot and two others were injured. According to the information received, the truck hit the rickshaw so strongly that the rickshaw fell into a ditch filled with water about 10 feet below the road.

Local people immediately started rescue operations.

Eyewitnesses said the truck was coming at a high speed and the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing a fierce collision with the rickshaw. Soon after the accident, the local people started relief and rescue operations, but the rickshaw completely drowned in water.

Police reached the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.

The SDPO of the draft said that at around 9:30 pm on the night of 23 February, it was reported that a truck and auto had collided near the bridge at Noora under the draft police station. A police team immediately reached the spot, where seven people were reported dead.

These include rickshaw driver Shatru Dhan Ram, 40 -year -old Shivnath Bind, 40 -year -old Santoshi Bind, 30 -year -old Bhuleton Bind, 40 -year -old Somar Bind and 30 -year -old Mosquito Bind. Apart from this, 20 -year -old Arjun Thakur also died. On the other hand, a corpse is stuck in water in a deep pit under the truck, which efforts are being made to take out.

The family of the deceased has demanded compensation of Rs 10 lakh.

After the accident, the local people have demanded the Chief Minister and the District Magistrate of Patan to be called to the spot. Apart from this, the families of the deceased protesters are demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh.
