Four drug smugglers have been arrested from two districts of Assam with drugs worth Rs 11.5 crore. The action taken by the Assam Police in Karbi Anglong and Cachar districts on Saturday night has shocked the business of illegal drugs in the state.

Police personnel stopped a vehicle on a knock checkpost, seized the goods in it and arrested a smuggler with 4.899 kg of opium worth Rs five crore. In another campaign run in Cachar, the district police and a special work force seized 1.2 kg of heroin worth Rs 6 crore.

Chief Minister Sarma said that the Cachar police stopped a vehicle in Sonbarighat and seized 1.239 kg of heroin worth Rs 6.5 crore and arrested three people.
