Aadhaar card is the last chance to update for free, fee will be charged after 14 June!

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given the Aadhaar card holders to update their documents online for free, but this facility is only for a limited time. Earlier this time limit was 14 March 2024, which was later extended to 14 June 2024. Now this extended time limit is also approaching, which means that you have only a few days left to update your Aadhaar details online without any fee.

Why is Aadhaar update necessary?
UIDAI is encouraging those to update the documents of the proof of identity and the address of the address (Proof of Address – POA), which were built 10 years or more earlier and in the meantime they have never updated it. By doing this, your information in the Aadhaar database remains accurate, which makes it easier to avail government schemes and use various services.

Which information is being updated for free?
Note that this free update feature is only to update documents related to your identity (name, date of birth, gender) and addresses online through the MYADHAAR portal. If you go to the base center and update a demographic or biometric (photo, fingerprint, iris), then you have to pay the prescribed fee.

What will happen after 14 June?
If you do not update your documents online on the Myadhaar portal till 14 June 2024, then you may have to pay a fee for this service. Usually a fee is also prescribed for online demographic updates, which is waived during this particular free period.

How to update online?

  1. Go to the official website of UIDAI (uidai.gov.in) or go directly to the Myaadhaar portal (MYADHAAR.UIDAI.GOV.IN).

  2. Login using your Aadhaar number and OTP received on registered mobile.

  3. Select the ‘Document Update’ option.

  4. Verify your current information.

  5. If the details are correct, upload your scanned documents for evidence of identity (POI) and address of the address (POA).

  6. Submit You will get a service request number (SRN), allowing you to track your update position.

Hurry up, do not miss the chance!
If it has been a long time for your Aadhaar card to be made and you have not updated it, then before June 14, take advantage of this free online facility. This will not only keep your information correct, but will also avoid any kind of inconvenience in future.
