Madhya Pradesh Political Punch: Important Minister, IAS Son-In-Law, Legislator’s List & More |
Important minister
A minister of the state cabinet has suddenly become more important than he was. The minister, close to the head of state, has been given the charge of another district. He is already holding the charge of one big district. But the charge of another district has enhanced his importance. The department functioning under the minister does not have much work. On the other hand, he is not very effective in the district that he is in charge of. The district is the hometown of the head of state who takes all the decisions. But the minister, made in charge of the district, is unable to do anything about it. Thus, the government has made him in charge of another district where the minister has to do a lot of work. He is happy and hopes to get an important department if a cabinet reshuffle takes place.
Time is a storm
Time is the most powerful force. The adage is apt to a minister of the state cabinet. A controversy has landed him in trouble, and the authorities have registered an FIR against him. His influence in the government, as a result of the FIR, has waned. Many people in the corridors of power, including the opposition, are seeking his resignation from the cabinet. He is hiding from the crowd. The minister previously forced the government to issue an order, which directed the police officers to salute all the lawmakers. What happened was that the minister participated in two functions where the police officers did not salute him. The incident enraged him so much that he wrote to the Chief Minister about the cops’ conduct. No sooner had the letter reached the head of state than the police department issued the order for saluting the lawmakers. Nevertheless, the issue of saluting the MPs and legislators erroneously crept into the order. The minister, who forced the police officers to salute the lawmakers, is himself saluting them to evade an arrest. He must have realised the aptness of the maxim that time is a storm, and we are all lost in it.
IAS Damads
A minister is in high spirits after marrying off his daughter to an IAS officer. The minister says he is a down-to-earth individual and wished to marry his daughter to an IAS officer. He has his desire fulfilled. The minister’s son-in-law is not an MP-cadre officer, but he is trying to bring him to this cadre. The minister organised the wedding ceremony of his daughter with pomp and show. The minister has become a member of the club whose sons-in-law are IAS officers. There is another minister whose son-in-law is holding an important position. Similarly, there is a former minister whose son-in-law is an IAS officer. The then minister also decided to marry his daughter to an IAS officer. Still, there is another politician who married his sister to an officer. But he joined the IAS cadre after marriage. The officer is retired.
Legislator’s list
The list of an MLA from the Chambal region has put the in-charge minister of the area in trouble. After the lifting of the ban on transfers, the legislator met the in-charge minister. The legislator handed over a list of transfers of a department to the minister. Showing respect to the legislator, the minister took the list. The legislator then began to take out the lists of transfers of other departments. The minister was tired of the lists, but the legislator never stopped. The legislator handed over more than 20 lists of transfers to the minister who is sharp-witted. He initially showed enough respect to the legislator, but the number of lists angered him. He said he would not be able to accede to his requests. There are other legislators, and he has to consider their recommendations, too, the in charge minister said. People in the corridors of power say that the legislator counts on the minister for whatever he does.
Budding lady leader
The people in the corridors of power are chinwagging about the birthday party of a woman representative of Bhopal Municipal Corporation. It was not a mere birthday party. The shindig was a show of strength by the female politician. She is moving step by step to shape her political career. The way she is working has amazed everyone. She has the backing of a powerful minister. There are whispers that she may become an MLA one day. If it happens, she will be the second woman politician to wear the crown of an MLA from the state capital. Her predecessor, who became an MLA from the state capital and a minister afterwards, once represented the municipal corporation. The woman BMC member wants to step into the shoes of her predecessor.
Right time!
A few politicians of the ruling party faded into oblivion. But they have found an opportunity to regain their place through the Tiranga Yatra. A former minister from the Bundelkhand region used the occasion to flaunt his strength. Thousands of people from his region participated in the Tiranga Yatra organised by him. There are murmurs in the corridors of power that the former minister has spent a lot of money for the Tiranga Yatra’s success. His object was to regain the lost ground in the party. His IT team came up with new ideas to refurbish his image. They posted the pictures of the former minister on social media, leading the Tiranga Yatra. His supporters long to see whether their efforts help the former minister redeem his lost ground.
