Chamoli (Uttarakhand): The journey of Hemkund Sahib, the holy pilgrimage site of Sikhs located in Chamoli district of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, is going to start from 25 May. On Sunday, May 25, the doors of Hemkund Sahib will be opened to visit the devotees. A large number of devotees are expected to arrive from the country and abroad on this auspicious occasion, in view of which special arrangements have been made by the local administration. The first batch will be sent today for the visit of Shri Hemkund Sahib under the leadership of Panj Pyaron in Chamoli. Earlier, the doors of the Lokpal Laxman Temple were also opened with law.
Sikh devotees reach Govindghat, will depart for Hemkund on Saturday
At the same time, a large batch of Sikh devotees, led by Panj Pyaar from Rishikesh, has also reached Govindghat. After Ardas (prayer) at Govindghat Gurdwara on Saturday, Panj Pyare will leave for Hemkund Sahib. According to the plan, the batch will take a night’s rest in Ghangharia and then on the next day i.e. Sunday, the devotees, led by Panj Pyar, will start their final climb for Hemkund Sahib. On the prescribed auspicious time, the doors of Hemkund Sahib will be opened with complete rituals and religious traditions, after which devotees will be able to bathe in the holy lake and pray in the gurudwara.
Hemkund Sahib, decorated with flowers, starts anchor service, registration mandatory
On the occasion of the launch of this holy journey, Hemkund Sahib and other surrounding pilgrimage sites have been decorated with different types of beautiful flowers, making the entire atmosphere devotional and enchanting. According to the Gurudwara Management Trust, it is mandatory to register for the journey, although no fixed limit has been imposed on the number of passengers. For the convenience of devotees, anchor service has also been started in Govindghat, Ghangharia and Hemkund Sahib, where everyone will get free food offerings. So far, 67,377 pilgrims have registered themselves for the yatra, which shows the immense reverence of the people towards this journey.
