News India Live, Digital Desk: One state, one global destination: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired the meeting of the 10th Governing Council of NITI Aayog in Bharat Mandapam. The main theme of this important meeting was ‘Developed State for Developed India @2047’, in which the vision of development of strong states was focused on the creation of India by 2047.
The Governing Council is the highest decision -making organization of the NITI Aayog. It includes all the Chief Ministers of Indian states, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territories and several Union Ministers. Prime Minister Modi works as the chairman of NITI Aayog.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said, “Developed India is the goal of every Indian. When every state develops, India will develop. It is the aspiration of 140 crore citizens.” He said, “We have to increase the pace of development. If the Center and all the states work together like Team India, then no goal is impossible.” The Prime Minister said, “States should develop at least one tourist destination in each state in accordance with global standards and providing all facilities and infrastructure. A state: a global destination. This will also develop neighboring cities as a tourist destination.”
The meeting is the first major meeting with all the Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors after the meeting, Operation Sindoor, which was an important initiative earlier.
Earlier, it was said in the statement of NITI Aayog that the focus of the meeting was to encourage the states to create adventure and inclusive vision documents for their development. These wins should be aligned with national priorities, but local needs should also be taken into account. States are expected to set a time -bound targets to effectively track progress.
Generally, the entire meeting of the Governing Council is annually. Last year it was held on 27 July, while the first meeting was held on 8 February 2015.
This meeting is taking place at a challenging time for the Indian economy. Recently, the US government led by President Donald Trump imposed a counter -tariff on Indian products, causing trade tension. Despite these challenges, India’s growth rate for the current financial year is still expected to be between 6.2% to 6.7%.
However, international agencies like the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank have reduced their development forecast for India to 6.2% and 6.3% respectively, citing global uncertainties and business issues.
In the year 2024, 10 states and union territories did not participate in it, which exposed some political challenges.
NITI Aayog is creating a wide long -term approach to convert India’s economy into a $ 30 -dollar economy by 2047. The Governing Council meeting plays an important role in bringing states together to contribute to this ambitious national goal.
