If you go deep into Ayurveda’s workings, you understand its focus on the elements constituting the body: the Dhatus. Essentially, Dhatu in Sanskrit means ‘constructing element’. The Saptādhatu are essential components in body structure and ensure different body aspects work. Ayurveda provides ways to protect them and keep them healthy. Patanjali works on the Ayurvedic method for products to help in this process.

7 Dhatus and Importance

1. Rasa or Lasika: It is the plasma or nutrient fluid. The nutrients feed the body’s tissues, organs and systems. Its increase and decrease lead to low digestion, excess salivation, nausea, bronchial asthma, sound sensitivity, tiredness, heart troubles, anorexia, loss of taste, pain, fever and impotency. Ayurveda suggests revitalising and strengthening medicines to deal with related diseases. Patanjali’s Divya Kamdudha Ras (5 Gms and 10 Gms) is a great choice for good health as it lessens heartburn and boosts digestive health.

2. Rakta: It is related to the blood or haemoglobin. It promotes and sustains life by dealing with the oxygenation of the tissues and organs. Its increase and decrease lead to red eyes and complexion, high blood pressure, weak blood vessels and veins, skin dryness and roughness, dermatological issues, ringworm, blood cancer, etc. Ayurveda feels blood purification methods are best for treating related troubles. The Divya Platogrit 3 U X 20 N (34 Gms) contains Giloy, Aloe vera, Papaya, Anardana and Palak. It works well to stop anaemia, push the platelet count and deal with blood-related troubles.

3. Mamsa: This muscular tissue dhatu keeps the body together. It covers the organs and helps in joint movements. Its increase and decrease causes obesity, heaviness all over the body, muscular tissue reduction in muscle tissues that can result in tiredness, weak blood vessels, muscle disorders, warts, etc. As per Ayurveda, opt for alkalis, cauterization and heat treatments to remove excess.

4. Meda or Vasā: It is related to adipose or fat tissue. You get warmth and oiling, apart from strength and organ stability. The increase and decrease bring in excessive oiliness-related troubles, bronchitis, flabbiness, fat accumulation, joint pain, hair and skin dryness, sleepy eyes, burning sensation in limbs, etc. Ayurveda suggests obesity treatment like Yogasanas and a healthy diet.

5. Asthi: Related to bone tissues, your body structure is around the skeleton. The troubles by increase and decrease would be extra teeth, nail and teeth growth issues, arthritis troubles, osteoporosis, bone degradation, numbness, etc. Treatment includes an increase in calcium intake via dairy products, consumption of dry fruits, leafy veggies, and pulses, intake of Vitamin D via medicines and sunlight, etc. Divya Orthogrit Tablet 60 N (42 Gms) is the perfect solution for bone issues like joint pain and osteoporosis.

6. Majjā: This dhatu is connected with the Bone Marrow. Marrow fills the bone space, helps with fat and lubrication, makes you strong and keeps motor sensory good. The increase and decrease causes heaviness, bone and blood cancer, dizziness, blackout, hollow bones, rheumatoid arthritis, weak physique, etc. That is why you need to increase your intake of proteinaceous food and bone marrow cures. Divya Yograj Guggul (20 Gms and 45 Gms) works well to keep your joints healthy while providing immunity.

7. Sukra: Related to reproductive or generative tissues, this last dhatu is the source of all the dhatus since it is related to helping procreation and strength. The increase and decrease cause excess semen secretion, high libido, low energy, anaemia, impotence, burning sensation in the genitals, etc. All the troubles related to this dhatu can be cured by fasting, a balanced diet and aphrodisiac medicines.

While the seven fundamental tissues or Saptādhatu can cause health troubles if unrestrained, Ayurveda and Patanjali will rescue you.
