Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A man shot his wife and her brother after a heated argument with wife in Gwalior on Thursday.

A video of the incident has surfaced, in which someone can be heard crying moments before a gunshot rings out. The footage shows a woman lying on the floor, bleeding and crying in pain. Shortly after, the brother is also shot and he falls to the ground.

Before the shot, the woman can be heard asking her brother to leave the place.

The incident took place in Bhitarwar’s Saharan village in Gwalior, late Thursday night.

The brother-in-law died on the spot, and the wife is in critical condition.

According to information, the man, Vikramjeet alias Vikki Sandhu, had been having ongoing disputes with his wife, Daljeet.

Due to these issues, Daljeet was staying at her parents’ home for some time.

On Thursday, she returned to her in-laws’ house with her brother, Omkar. There, another argument broke out between the couple.

During the fight, Vikramjeet pulled out a gun and shot both Daljeet and Omkar. Omkar died on the spot. Daljeet, who tried to stop her husband, was also shot and left seriously injured.

Daljeet’s father, Manjeet Singh, said that his daughter got married to Vikramjeet four years ago. They have no children. On Thursday, his son Omkar had gone to drop Daljeet at her in-laws’ place when the argument turned violent.

Police officers, including SDOP Jitendra Nagaich and Station In-charge Hitendra Singh Rathore, reached the scene quickly. By that time, the accused had locked the house and escaped.

Daljeet is currently being treated in Gwalior. Police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder against Vikramjeet. They are also checking whether the gun used in the shooting was licensed or illegal.

Gwalior ASP Niranjan Sharma confirmed that the incident happened due to a domestic dispute.

The body of Omkar has been sent for post-mortem. The search for the accused is ongoing.
