News India Live, Digital Desk: TVK vs DMK: In an important development in the political circles of Tamil Nadu, Vaishnavi, a prominent youth leader of the Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) of actor Vijay, formally joined the ruling DMK. The ceremony held at the Coimbatore office of DMK was chaired by former minister Senthil Balaji, which reflects another defection in the ruling party before the 2026 important assembly elections.
In this program, not only Vaishnavi but many other young TV members changed loyalty towards DMK, which shocked Vijay’s newborn political organization. The former TV leader did not hide the words, making a scathing attack on his previous party, accused of systematic discrimination against women and youth within the organization. Vaishnavi told reporters, “We thought there would be a platform for youth empowerment, but it became another curtain for the BJP.” In his words, one year of disillusionment was the weight.
Sexual prejudice and economic conflict ”: Vaishnavi’s horrific revelations
Vaishnavi’s visit to DMK came after several weeks of dissatisfaction, which results in his dramatic resignation earlier this month. This leader of Coimbatore gave shocking details about his experiences in TVK, presenting a picture of an organization that failed to fulfill his promises to include the youth. He revealed, “I invested not only my time but also my personal money – about 5 lakh rupees which I had collected hard – party welfare activities, but had to face constant rejection from senior leaders.”
The young leader preserved his most rigorous criticism for gender discrimination prevailing within the party structure. Recalling many derogatory events, Vaishnavi quoted senior members who used to say: “You are just a girl, what do you know about politics? Stay inside the house where you should be.” These revelations have made TVK defensive, especially when it is trying to establish itself as a modern, progressive alternative in Tamil Nadu politics.
Political results and the way for 2026 elections
The defection has significant implications for both parties. For DMK, it represents another successful theft of talents from emerging political parties, which strengthens their young cadre before the next electoral battle. Senthil Balaji, despite his ongoing legal troubles, played a clear role in this defection, indicating the DMK’s strategy to take advantage of experienced hands to include disgruntled members of rival parties.
Political analysts suggest that this development may force TVK to speed up its organizational reorganization. Madurai-based political commentator Arul Selvan said, “Vaishnavi’s exit and subsequent accusations that attack TVK’s young-centered movement.”
