Pune Crime l Rajendra Hagwane Tore My Clothes, Outraged My Modesty, Assaulted Me: Second Daughter-In-Law Speaks Out After Vaishnavi Hagwane’s Suicide; Watch Video |

In a disturbing twist to the suicide case of Vaishnavi Hagwane, daughter-in-law of NCP office-bearer Rajendra Hagwane, another serious allegations of physical and mental abuse have now emerged from the family’s second daughter-in-law. Vaishnavi’s sister-in-law, Mayuri Jagtap, has come forward with a harrowing account of the torture she claims to have suffered at the hands of the same family.

Rajendra Hagwane has now been dismissed from the party.

Speaking to the media, Mayuri described the Hagwane family as “cruel” and accused her father-in-law Rajendra Hagwane and brother-in-law Shashank of repeated assaults. “They beat me not only at home but even on the street. Shashank knocked me down, pulled my hair, and ran off with my phone in which I had recorded a video of the abuse,” she alleged.

She also stated that her father-in-law tore her clothes and outraged her modesty during one of the assaults. “He tore my clothes and humiliated me. When I tried to lodge a complaint at Paud police station, I was met with resistance. Political pressure was used to suppress my case. I was even pressured with a false complaint against my maternal side,” Mayuri said.

According to Mayuri, she and her husband were forced to live separately within the same house, cooking on a stove in isolation. “We were treated like outcasts. They didn’t support us at all and didn’t even allow us to move out,” she added.

She further alleged harassment by her mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, saying that although she tried to fight back, the constant abuse left her traumatised. “Vaishnavi was quiet. If she had spoken up against this, she might have found a way out and would still be alive today. My husband left me at my maternal home a year and a half ago. If I had stayed in that house, I don’t think I would be alive today either,” Mayuri said with visible emotion.
