Jammu and Kashmir Police said that during this campaign, there was a firing between the intruders and security personnel in the Sinhapora area of ​​Chhatru. Information about the number of terrorists involved or casualties involved in this has not been shared.

This fresh encounter took place after an alert has been increased, as the security forces continue to tighten the efforts to infiltrate the Line of Control. Security officials say that the campaign will continue till all the threats are over.

Also, monitoring and deployment has been increased in more danger areas. According to VK Birdi, Inspector General of Police of Kashmir Zone, six terrorists were killed in two separate campaigns in Tral area of ​​Shopian and Pulwama in 48 hours recently.

The Kishtwar encounter took place after the recent successes against terrorism in the Kashmir Valley. On 14 May, three militants associated with The Resistance Front (TRF), a small organization in Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (TRF), were killed in a joint operation in Alashipora area of ​​Shopian district of South Kashmir.

Those killed included TRF’s top commander Shahid Kutte, who is considered a prominent player in recent terrorist activities. The second two terrorists killed have been identified as Adnan.
