It is estimated that in the next three-four days i.e. between 23 and 24 May, monsoon rains will start on the Kerala coast.

The department said that circumstances are favorable for the arrival of monsoon in Kerala in the next 3-4 days. The southwest monsoon usually reaches Kerala on 1 June. After this it spreads across the country by 8 July. It then starts retreating from northwest India around 17 September and goes back completely by 15 October. This year it is showing a change. The date of arrival of monsoon in Kerala is usually 1 June. In 2009, the monsoon reached Kerala on 23 May. Pre-monsoon rains have been heavy across the state.

Meanwhile, IMD has predicted that this year the monsoon may receive more than normal rainfall. It was also said that this time the effect of El Nino would not be seen. Al Nino is a seasonal condition that usually receives less rainfall in India. Monsoon is very important for Indian agriculture. About 42.3 percent of people run their livelihood from agriculture. Not only this, this region contributes 18.2 percent to the country’s GDP.

Meanwhile, the Pune Observatory has predicted the weather. It is a forecast that the sky will be cloudy for the next six days and light to moderate rain will occur with strong winds. The state received unseasonal rains on Tuesday. After a hot day on Tuesday in Pune, the sky was cloudy in the afternoon and it started raining. Along with this, there were also strong winds.
