Free UPSC Coaching: Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) has invited applications for its free UPSC Civil Services Examination coaching programme for the 2026 exam cycle. The scheme is designed to offer quality coaching and guidance to minority candidates, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and women candidates.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Only such candidates who are graduates and are eligible to sit for the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026 are eligible to apply. Candidates pursuing any regular academic course or working in any organisation shall not be eligible for admission to RCA-JMI.

How to Apply and Deadline

The application is fully online and can be accessed from the admission portal of the university at https://admission.jmi.ac.in. The closing date for submission of the application is May 28, 2025.

What the Programme Offers

The programme offers free residential coaching as well as hostel facilities for the preparation of both the Preliminary and Main phases of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.

Entrance Exam Cities

The test of entry will be held in 12 cities in India, namely Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Calicut.

Pattern and Structure of Exam

The test of entry will contain two papers — Paper-I and Paper-II and will last for a total of three hours.

Paper-I will have 60 objective-type questions in General Studies and CSAT. Paper-I will be according to UPSC norms and will have negative marking with the deduction of one-third of the marks for every wrong answer. The question paper will be allowed to be carried by the candidates after the test, and OMR sheet will be taken back after an hour.

Paper-II will include essay writing, where two essays have to be written by the candidates, each of 30 marks, totaling 60 marks. Two hours will be the time allocated for this section.

Shortlisted only the first 900 candidates of Paper-I will undergo essay paper checking.

Interview (Personality Test)

Shortlisted candidates for the written test will undergo Personality Test (Interview), which will be of 30 marks and offline mode only.
