Republic TV: FIR lodged against Amit Malviya and Republic TV Editor

News India Live, Digital Desk: Republic tv: Police said an FIR has been lodged against BJP IT Cell chief Amit Malviya and Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami for allegedly running wrong information.

He said that on the basis of the complaint of Srikanth Swaroop BN, the head of the Legal Cell of the Indian Youth Congress, a case was registered against the two at the High Grounds Police Station on Tuesday under Section 192 (deliberately encouraged with the intention of inciting a riot) and 352 (intentionally insulting the peace).

Swaroop accused Malaviya and Goswami of “a heinous and criminal motivated campaign” to “clearly disseminate misinformation”. He alleged that the accused have “promoted concocted claims in a malicious manner” that the Istanbul Congress Center in Türkiye is the office of the Indian National Congress (INC).

He said, “This act was done with a clear and undisputed criminal intentions to cheat the Indian people, discredit a major political institution, to tamper with nationalist sentiments, incite public disturbance and weaken national security and democratic integrity.”

Swaroop further stated that Malaviya and Goswami have been taken into a unstable background of stressful relations between India and Turkey, which is inspired by Türkiye to the alleged support of Pakistan.

The complainant alleged, “The actions of Malaviya and Goswami are an unprecedented attack on India’s democratic foundation, public safety and national security. The deliberately misuse of the impact of them to spread lies with criminal intentions demands the most rigorous reply.”

Swaroop also appealed to the Press Council of India, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, CBI and other law enforcement agencies to take this complaint as an emergency.
