Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will play in an all-important IPL 2025 fixture on May 21, Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium and is a virtual quarter-final, given the scheme of things. However, Mumbai’s weather is massively in focus, especially given the monsoons have been setting in various cities in India.

According to Accuweather, the weather is expected to be cloudy in Mumbai on May 21 in the evening, while the probability of precipitation is 25%. With the cloud cover also set to be at 100%, the much-anticipated contest between the two sides could witness stoppages.

Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals earlier in the tournament but lost their previous match at the Wankhede Stadium

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians had beaten the Delhi Capitals narrowly the last time the two sides faced off this year. Nevertheless, the five-time champions had lost the rain-marred contest against the Gujarat Titans by three wickets as it went to the final delivery. However, the Mumbai-based franchise are primed to qualify for the playoffs and likely to seal it should they win on Wednesday.

As for the Capitals, they are still reeling from the ten-wicket loss to the Titans, who chased down 200 without breaking a sweat. Delhi began their campaign with four wins but their performances have massively tapered off in the second part of the tournament. With Mumbai having a promising run and known to raise their performance in the latter half, the visitors will require their A game.
