Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), May 19, 2025: A shocking video has surfaced on the internet in which it can be seen that a few goons brutally thrash a young student with sticks and rods in the middle of the road in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that a few masked men are beating a student outside the Hitech College in Ghaziabad with sticks and rods. The student is seen lying on the road covered in blood.
As per reports, a final-year BBA student was brutally beaten outside his college. The incident took place on Thursday (May 15) evening in front of Hitech College which is situated along NH-9 and incident of the assault has left the student in a critical condition.
Details About The Incident
As per reports from AajTak, a student identified as Dhruv Tyagi who is a resident of Tyagi Nagar in Hapur had exited the college premises when suddenly a group of around four youths attacked him. The video shows that the assailants attacked him with baseball bats, bats and wooden sticks in full public view. The attackers are seen beating Dhruv repeatedly with the sticks and rods in their hands, while he is seen lying on the footpath with blood emanating from his head and jaw.
The people and the students present at the spot rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition. There are reports that the student has been shifted to the intensive care unit of the hospital as his condition worsened.
The entire incident was caught on camera and the video has gone viral on social media. Following the incident, an FIR was lodged at Wave City Police Station based on a complaint by Dhruv’s brother, Uday Tyagi. The complaint has been filed against four accused who have been identified as, Pratham Vats, Alok, Sumit and Nakkul Sangwan. Few unidentified persons are also mentioned in the complaint.
The police said that swift action was taken following the complaint. The police further said that two accused have been arrested in connection with the matter and they are reviewing the CCTV cameras to identify the other accused and nab them.
According to the victim’s family, Dhruv had been involved in a dispute with a few students during a sports event last year. Since that altercation, he had stopped attending regular college activities and only came for examinations. While the exact motive behind the attack is still under investigation, authorities are exploring the possibility of it being linked to the earlier altercation.
There are reports that Dhruv missed his Saturday examination due to his hospitalisation. His family reported that he frequently falls unconscious and is in a state of deep psychological trauma.
