Most people eagerly wait for a call from a recruiter after applying to a company. But getting bombarded with calls and messages late at night? That evokes different reaction altogether. One candidate was so annoyed by the recruiter’s repeated calling and texts that they cancelled the interview and even blocked her. The recruiter tried to reach them not once, not twice, but 15 times by phone, along with 45 texts and 4 emails, and all of these woke up them at 10 PM.
The job applicant narrated the ordeal on Reddit. The candidate detailed how, over a span of just three days — Monday to Wednesday — the recruiter sent a staggering 45 text messages, 15 phone calls, and 4 emails.
“I woke up to texts sent at 10PM at night. After that I cancelled the interview,” the Redditor wrote in their post.

What baffled them even more was the fact that they had already spoken three times and exchanged all necessary emails, yet the recruiter’s persistence didn’t slow down. When the candidate finally called back — returning one of the many missed calls, someone else allegedly answered the phone, further adding to their confusion.
“When I called her back— from her one after another stalker calls while I was busy – someone else answered the phone! I contacted the interviewers and canceled, sent her an email withdrawing my application”, they explained.
Feeling uneasy and increasingly frustrated, the candidate made the decision to pull the plug on the entire process.
They directly contacted the interviewers, cancelled the interview, and sent an email officially withdrawing his application. However, the recruiter still placed two more calls. That’s when they finally blocked her number.
“Her behaviour completely turned me off from one of the biggest global companies,” the candidate added, expressing disappointment at how such a major firm could allow such unprofessional conduct during their hiring process.
