In a transformative step towards modernizing railway infrastructure and enhancing passenger amenities, Western Railway has announced the development of a first-of-its-kind Digital Lounge at Mumbai Central station. Conceptualized under the theme “From Waiting to Working – Modern Comfort and Coworking for Every Journey,” this initiative reimagines traditional waiting areas as productive and tech-enabled spaces.

According to WR, the project aligns with the  Prime Minister’s vision of transforming railway stations into vibrant city centres. Railway stations, located at prime urban spots, are ideally suited to serve not just as transit points but also as hubs of activity and innovation. The Digital Lounge exemplifies this vision by offering world-class coworking facilities to professionals and passengers on the go.

Under this concept, Mumbai Central will host the Indian Railways’ first-ever co-working space, developed over a 1712 sq ft area within the station premises.
