SHOCKING! Noida Man Faces 35% Burns As Toilet Seat Explodes After Flushing; Investigation Reveals Reason | X

Noida: In Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a 20-year-old man named Ashu Nagar was severely injured from an explosion of a toilet seat following his use of the flush. The event took place at his residence in Sector 36, where Ashu suffered a blast upon pressing the button, leading to 35% burn injuries on his body and face. He was rapidly transported to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Kasana, where he is currently in critical yet stable condition.

Preliminary inquiries indicate that the blast might have been caused by the buildup of methane gas in the sewage system, worsened by obstructed pipes and inadequate airflow.

Area inhabitants highlighted a damaged sewer line behind the P-3 roundabout that has gone unrepaired for more than a year, even after multiple complaints. Issues were highlighted regarding the lack of ventilation pipes that once facilitated gas release, increasing the potential for explosions.

This concerning event has instigated anger among residents aimed at the Greater Noida Authority for disregarding sewer system upkeep. Residents, along with RWA secretary Alok Nagar, underscored that the accumulation of methane gas is a frequent problem in blockages, calling for prompt inspection and repairs of the sewage systems. In reply, officials stated that their inspections revealed no issues in the sewer system, although they plan to conduct further investigations with the assistance of IIT experts, maintaining that this is a singular event.
