Hamirpur: On May 13, 2025, a report of an attempted child marriage in Sisolar police station area was received. The 1098 Child Helpline team, along with local police, successfully intervened and stopped the wedding.
On May 15, the minor girl was presented before the Child Welfare Committee by DC Safwan Ahmed. The committee informed the girl and her parents about the provisions of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, and conducted counseling.
The committee members Vibha Bharti (Chairperson), Vijay Shankar Srivastava, scheduled a follow-up after 15 days and discussed linking the girl with welfare schemes.
