Earthquake updates: Mild earthquake tremors have been felt once again in South Asia and Southeast Asia, in the same week, many mild earthquake shocks have been recorded in Myanmar, Nepal and Kutch districts of Indian states of Gujarat. A 3.4 magnitude earthquake occurred on the Richter scale in Myanmar on Thursday morning. This caused panic among the local citizens for some time. A few hours before the Myanmar earthquake, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Nepal on Wednesday evening. According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, the earthquake occurred at 6:11 pm and its center was in Chhaskam area of Solukumbu district. Mild tremors were also felt in Kathmandu and neighboring districts, but there is no news of loss anywhere. Since the epicenter of the earthquake was in the mountainous region, its effect was limited.
Earthquake in Kutch district of Gujarat, no damage of any damage
Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude occurred in Kutch district of the Indian state of Gujarat. According to the Indian Earthquake Research Organization (ISRO), light tremors were felt at 6:55 pm. The center of the earthquake was 12 km north-west from Bhachau. District disaster response officials said that there is no news of any loss of life and property due to earthquake. Kutch district falls in high-risk earthquake-prone areas. Regular earthquake tremors are felt here. Memories of the devastating earthquake in 2001 are still fresh, killing more than 13,800 people, while around 1.67 lakh people were injured.
Nature warning or prediction?
The feeling of earthquake in three countries in a week is believed to be a warning that there is a need to keep a strict monitoring on the seismic activities. All these earthquakes were of mild intensity, so they had no major impact. However, government and citizens need to be vigilant towards possible earthquakes in future.
