New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed that he has postponed the nuclear war by threatening to stop trade with India and Pakistan. However, the Government of India on Tuesday dismissed Trump’s claims and clarified that no trade issue was discussed on Saturday morning when US Vice President JD Vance spoke to Prime Minister Modi. In addition, the Foreign Ministry had told the US regarding bilateral talks at a neutral place with Pakistan that bilateral talks with Pakistan would take place only when it would vacate the PoK. No third party has any role on the Kashmir issue.

In response to the killing of Hindus in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, there was a four-day war situation between India and Pakistan after India started military action under Operation Sindoor. Then on Saturday, the two countries agreed on the ceasefire. When asked about US President Donald Trump’s attempt to take credit for ceasefire and getting ready for mediation on the Kashmir issue, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on Tuesday that Pakistan would have to vacate the illegal occupied part of Kashmir, PoK. India has been a policy from the beginning and there has been no change. He also said that on Saturday 10 May, the DGMO of Pakistan contacted the DGMO of India and expressed readiness for the ceasefire, causing the struggle between the two countries to stop.

Jaiswal said that Pakistan’s DGMO tried to contact India at 12.37 pm, but India could not contact them through the hotline due to technical problems. Therefore, his conversation with the Indian DGMO was scheduled at 3.35 pm.

India clarified that Pakistan was forced to ceasefire as the Indian Air Force had carried out an unprecedented attack on Pakistan’s main airbase on Saturday morning, causing heavy damage. Due to the strength of Indian military forces, Pakistan was forced to stop firing and military action.

He also clarified that in a conversation with other countries, India had given the message that it was targeting terrorist structures in response to the April 22 terror attack. If the Pakistani army firing, the Indian Army will also respond. If Pakistan stops, India will also stop. This message was given to Pakistan as soon as Operation Sindoor started at 1 pm on Tuesday night.

He said that during Operation Sindoor, which lasted from May 7 to May 10, the talks between India and US leaders took place only on military status, no business related issue was discussed.

Apart from this, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the country which has been raising terrorism like an industry for decades, if it feels that it will escape its results then it is cheating itself. The terrorist network that India has demolished was not only responsible for the death of Indian citizens, but was also responsible for the death of many innocent people worldwide. Now a new general situation has been established and the sooner Pakistan will accept it, the better it will be for it.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan was done on the basis of mutual trust and goodwill, but Pakistan has weakened its relations with India by supporting terrorism on the border for a long time. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, according to the decision taken in the Cabinet Committee meeting of security affairs on April 23, India has clearly decided that India will not implement the treaty until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism permanently.
