Monsoon News: The Meteorological Department has officially announced that today i.e. on 13 May 2025, the south-west monsoon has arrived in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bay of Bengal. Typically, according to the natural cycle, the southwest monsoon enters Andaman and Nicobar every year between 18-22 May. However, at present, the south-west monsoon of 2025 has come to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands about five days before its natural tradition, due to being more than one natural factor.
Dr. R.K. Jenamani has told Gujarat News that today the southwest monsoon of 2025 has arrived in the southern and northern parts of the Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and parts of the Bay of Bengal. The mood of the southwest monsoon is very favorable in the current situation.
That is, natural factors are becoming very favorable for the arrival of people from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bay of Bengal and Kerala. Along with this, the southern part of the Arabian Sea, Maldives, Komorin (Kanyakumari) region, more areas of the Bay of Bengal and the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands region are also suited to move the southwest monsoon in the entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands region. Thus, if all these natural factor remains favorable, then there is every possibility that the South-West monsoon will come to Kerala on May 27, 2025.
Currently, Nicobar Islands are receiving moderate to heavy rainfall. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the Nicobar Islands for the next two days. For the last two days, the western winds in the Bay of Andaman, Nicobar and Bengal have been blowing in full intensity. Also, western winds are blowing at a speed of 1.5 km above sea level.
Giving special information to Gujarat news, Deputy Director General (Retd) of Meteorological Department (Mumbai Center), Sunil Kamble has said that more than one natural factors are favorable for the arrival of southwest monsoon in India, a little before their natural tradition and cycle in Andaman and Nicobar.
For example, the Andaman Sea and Nicobar Islands receive satisfactory rainfall for three consecutive days, the wind direction turns from north-east to south-west, air speed remains at a certain level, sea level temperature decreases and cools, humidity in the atmosphere is above 70 percent, and the sea flows abundant. If all these natural factors are favorable together, the arrival of the southwest monsoon will be first in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal including the Nicobar Islands.
