April wpi data: India’s wholesale price inflation (WPI) has come down from 2.05 percent in March 2025 to 0.85 percent in April 2025. The country’s wholesale inflation reached a 13 -month low in April. In April, the core wholesale inflation was unchanged at 1.5 percent on a month-by-month basis. The wholesale inflation rate was estimated to be 1.76 percent in April. Food inflation has come down from 5.49 percent in March to 3.81 percent in April 2025. At the same time, the inflation rate of vegetables has come down from -15.88 percent to -18.26 percent on a month -month basis.

In April 2025, the wholesale price index (WPI) of eggs, meat, fish fell from 0.71 percent to -0.29 percent of March. At the same time, the wholesale inflation of onion has come down from 26.65 percent to 0.20 percent. The wholesale inflation of potato in April 2025 was -24.30 percent, which was -6.77 percent in March. Thus, the wholesale inflation rate of manufactured items has come down from 3.07 percent to 2.62 percent in March.

 

WPI -2.18 percent of fuel and electricity in April 2025 was 0.2 percent in March. Whereas the wholesale price inflation (WPI) of primary items has come down from 0.76 percent to -1.44 percent. Similarly, the wholesale inflation of food items declined to 2.55 percent in April, which was 4.66 percent in March.
