Congress’s strong attack on BJP leader’s statement, said- Colonel Sophia Qureshi’s insult is not tolerated

News India Live, Digital Desk: Madhya Pradesh minister Vijay Shah is facing criticism for making “highly objectionable” comments about India’s senior and respected army officer Colonel Sophia Qureshi, who played an important role in Operation Sindoor of the Indian Armed Forces.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, addressed the matter on his X handle and targeted the BJP leader, saying that the minister has made “very objectionable” and “unfair” comments about Colonel Qureshi.

Terrorists tried to partition in Pahalgam, but the country remained united during ‘Operation Sindoor’ and responded in a firm and decisive manner of their threats. Kharge wrote, “The BJP-RSS leadership has constantly shown disrespect towards women.”

He further said, “From the attack on social media on the wife of the naval officer martyred in Pahalgam, the pattern is harassed, from the attack on social media Vikram Misri. Now, a minister has further enhanced this disturbing trend by making derogatory remarks about Colonel Qureshi.” The senior Congress leader demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi take immediate action and remove the minister from the post.
