Ichalkranji: Executive Engineer Prashant Tarachandji Rathi (age 49, resident of subcontinent residency Sangli Road) of Mahavitaran Company was caught red handed by the Anti -Corruption Department on Tuesday, demanding Rs 90,000 for providing electricity connection in an apartment and taking a bribe of Rs 30,000. This action was taken at the Mahavitaran office located at Station Road.
Meanwhile, some groups troubled by corrupt conduct in this department expressed their happiness by bursting firecrackers at the entrance of Mahavitaran on receiving information about action. Troubled by the action, Rathi was admitted to Indira Gandhi General Hospital for treatment due to high blood pressure.
According to the information received in this regard, the complainant, who is an electrical contractor, submitted all the documents required for electricity connection in 18 flats in an apartment building in the city in the sub-departmental office of Mahavitaran. When the complainant met Executive Engineer Prashant Rathi to approve this application, Rathi demanded a bribe and said that the matter will be approved after giving 25 thousand rupees. 90,000 rupees for 18 plots, which is Rs. In this regard, the complainant contacted the Anti -Corruption Department and lodged a complaint. When the complaint was verified, it was found that Rathi confirmed the demand of Rs 90,000 and sought a bribe of Rs 30,000 after the agreement. Accordingly, the Anti -Corruption Bureau laid a trap and arrested Rathi on Tuesday afternoon taking a bribe of Rs 30,000. A case has been registered against Rathi at Shivajinagar police station. This action was taken by the team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Vaishnavi Patil of the Anti -Corruption Department.
Two more arrested in fraud case
Dr. was cheated by promising to make huge profits through stock trading software. Shivajinagar Police has arrested two more people for cheating Rs 93 lakh 35 thousand from Dasavatar Gopalakrishna Bade (age 56, resident Jawaharnagar). He is named Ritesh Arun Vanjari (age 36, resident Nagpur) and Bandhan Bank Sales Manager Aneesh Rashid Shah (age 32, resident Hingna Road, Nagpur). A case was registered against the four in December 2024 in this case. Mohan Mahadev Sahu (age 38, resident Deoli Road, Dhule) has already been arrested, which has made the number of accused three.
According to the information received from the police, Dr. Dasavatar Bade was assured to the company’s Chief Mentor Kershi Tawadia and Assistant Rashi Arora of attractive returns on the company’s investment. After winning the trust of the doctor, he persuaded him to make big investment in the company. From 13 November to 10 December 2024, Dr. Badi deposited 93 lakh 35 thousand rupees in the respective accounts. However, no refund was received from this company. When Dr. Bade realized that he had been cheated, he had filed a case against four people, including the company’s admin, the company’s WhatsApp group.
