Actress Anushka Sharma visited the renowned spiritual figure, Premanand Maharaj, at Vrindavan Dham in Uttar Pradesh to seek his blessings, accompanied by her husband, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The visit came a day after Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket. A video now circulating on social media shows the Dil Dhadakne Do actress getting emotional as the spiritual leader offered words of wisdom to the duo.
The actress was seen getting overwhelmed, visibly moved by Premanand Maharaj’s words; she was even heard asking, “Kya naam jap se ho jayega?” He replied, “Completely… I’m sharing this from my life experience. I have come to Bhakti Yoga after experiencing Sankhya Yoga, Ashtang Yoga, and Karma Yoga.”

Upon arriving at the ashram, the couple greeted Premanand Ji Maharaj, who then asked, “Prasanna ho? (Are you happy?)” Virat responded, “Ji, abhi thik hain (Yes, I’m okay).” Maharaj Ji replied, “You should stay well.”
On Monday after Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket after 14 years, Anushka penned an emotional note on her Instagram handle. Sharing a throwback picture with Virat on Instagram, the actress wrote, “They’ll talk about the records and the milestones — but I’ll remember the tears you never showed, the battles no one saw, and the unwavering love you gave this format of the game. I know how much all this took from you. After every Test series, you came back a little wiser, a little humbler — and watching you evolve through it all has been a privilege.”
She added, “Somehow, I always imagined you’d retire international cricket in whites — But you’ve always followed your heart, and so I just want to say my love, you’ve earned every bit of this goodbye.”

On the work front, Anushka has been away from the film industry for years. Her last film was Zero in 2018 with Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan.
She is set to star next in Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic of Jhulan Goswami, which was slated to release in 2023.
However, the makers have maintained radio silence over the release date, and there has been no official announcement regarding whether the movie has been shelved.
