21-Year-Old Biker Killed After Being Hit By Reckless Truck Near Cine Wonder Mall | Representational Image

A 21-year-old biker died after being hit by a truck in Kapurbawadi on Sunday night. The incident occurred on Kapurbawadi Road near Cine Wonder Mall in Thane at around 10 PM, when the biker was crushed by a speeding truck. The deceased has been identified as Mosheb Gulam Hussein Shaikh (21), a resident of Ghatkopar.

An official from the Regional Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation stated that they received information about the accident and immediately alerted the local police.

The truck, bearing registration number TN-34-AB-6738, was reportedly being driven recklessly from Thane to Kapurbawadi. The driver lost control and hit the biker, who was heading in the same direction. The impact caused the biker to fall off the road, resulting in severe head and bodily injuries. Locals rushed to the spot and informed the police. Shaikh was taken to Civil Hospital in Thane, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The driver of the truck has been identified as Sailam D (44), a resident of Tamil Nadu. Following the incident, police and concerned authorities removed the vehicles from the road, restoring smooth traffic flow.

An FIR has been registered against the truck driver under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Shriram Paul, Police Inspector from Kapurbawadi Police Station, said, “We have arrested the driver and produced him in court. Further investigation is ongoing.”
