IndiGo boosts international connectivity with new direct flights from Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam to Abu Dhabi | File Photo

Mumbai: IndiGo has announced new direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar. The new routes are expected to enhance international connectivity for Indian travellers in the eastern and southern parts of the country, making global travel more accessible and affordable.

The flights on Bhubaneswar–Abu Dhabi routes will operate three times a week from June 12, and between Visakhapatnam–Abu Dhabi four times a week starting June 13th.

Flight 6E 1441 from Abu Dhabi to Bhubaneshwar will depart at 2.35am on Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday and will arrive at 8.35am. Whereas the return flight 6E 1442 will depart at 9.35 from Bhubaneshwar and will reach Abu Dhabi at 12.35pm.

Similarly, Flight 6E 1443 from Abu Dhabi to Vishakhapatnam will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing at 2.35am and reaching at 8.20am. The return flight will depart at 9.45am and reach at 12.30pm.

With the addition of these flights, IndiGo now operates over 100 weekly flights to Abu Dhabi from 15 cities in India. This also increases its frequencies to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to 275 flights a week from 18 cities in India.

By introducing these direct flights, IndiGo is aiming to enhance travel convenience for passengers, expanding international access to regional markets, and catering to the growing demand from both business and leisure travellers.

The new routes connecting Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar to Abu Dhabi are expected to provide easier access to the UAE, facilitating smoother travel for business, education, and tourism purposes.

Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a hub for technical and vocational training, as well as its appeal as a themed holiday destination, will attract more visitors, fostering cultural exchange and economic growth between the regions.
