The raid by the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) team in Bettiah city on Saturday stirred up the entire market. The team investigated and questioned the prestigious jewelery shop for about 5 hours.

When the media personnel present on the spot tried to get information from the team, the authorities refused to say anything. Not only this, the team members immediately left the media and left from there. Among the vehicles from which the team came, the name plate of ‘Govt of India’ was installed, which confirmed that the action was being taken by the central government agency.

When reporters spoke to the shop owner, they told that the team asked for some documents and investigated them. After this, the team left without telling anything. When he was asked who the team belonged to, they only said that they cannot tell.

This is not the first time that such action has been taken on Nandani Jewelers. Earlier, at the same establishment, DRI’s team had conducted and questioned continuously for three days. In such a situation, this action taken again is raising many questions.

It is being told that DRI’s team conducts raids only when they get strong information about any kind of illegal trade or tax evasion. In such a situation, this action is considered very serious. After this incident, there is an atmosphere of concern in other jewelers of the city.

At present, no official statement has come from DRI, but the way the action was carried out, it is clear that the agency had a concrete input.
