If you’re in the mood for a gothic thriller, consider watching Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu. Following his successful 2022 film, The Northman, Eggers has created a remake of the classic 1922 film Nosferatu. It was released in theaters on December 25, 2024, and received positive reviews from both audiences and critics.
At the 97th Academy Awards, the film received nominations for Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Production Design. Additionally, the film is available for streaming on OTT.

Storyline of Nosferatu
The story of the film centers around a young girl named Ellen, who pleads for a supernatural being to ease her loneliness. Her cries and wishes awaken a mysterious creature that vows to grant her eternal pleasure. As time goes on, she marries Thomas Hutter, and the couple moves to Germany, settling in the town of Wisburg. One night, Ellen is disturbed by a vivid dream in which she imagines marrying Death. When she learns that her husband is going to the countryside for work, she begs him to stay, but he leaves. What unfolds next is revealed in the film.
