Jab Baat Desh Ki Ho: Posters Hailing Operation Sindoor Put Up In Kothrud, Resident Urges To Stop Defacing City |
As details of Operation Sindoor — India’s bold cross-border strike on terror camps in Pakistan and PoJK — emerged, locals celebrated with crackers and slogans in support of the armed forces. Meanwhile in Pune, posters hailing Operation Sindoor were put up by BJP Yuva Morcha’s Dushyant Mohol in Kothrud.
They also featured the names of Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol and Kothrud MLA and Minister Chandrakant Patil.
However, the posters did not go well with a Punekar who took to social media to raise the issue of defacing the city.
“What is the need for such boards? We all feel the same. There is pride and honor in the army, that is why every Kothrud resident is proud of Sindoor. Please don’t spoil the beautiful surroundings by putting up billboards. Use FM, paper clippings, media for this. PMC, need immediate action,” a resident named Sachin Shaha wrote on X.
“Currently, after many months, with the hard work of the municipality, @DrRajBhosale, and the cooperation of political leaders, the billboards in Kothrud have been removed and the roads are looking good. But now we request you not to put up billboards again. All parties should cooperate in this regard,” he added, tagging BJP Pune and Ajit Pawar in his tweet.
For the uninitiated, BJP leaders in the city have been at the forefront and have slammed the act of putting up illegal posters defacing the city, including Chandrakant Patil, Hemant Rasane, and Murlidhar Mohol. They have appealed time and again to refrain from putting up such posters. However, the appeals have fallen on deaf ears, and the city continues to see posters defacing public spaces at every nook and corner.
