New Delhi: After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India has attacked another kind against terrorism. With the help of Operation Sindoor, the surgical strike was carried out by firing 24 missiles at 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK. The Indian Air Force used refined Storm shadow or scalp missile for this attack. This missile is a bad dream for enemies capable of accurate, powerful and destroying underground bunkers. This missile, which is fired with the help of fighter aircraft, is also capable of destroying the strongest buildings.
Jibhochan-I or Storm Shadow is the most accurate missile developed by Britain and France. These missiles were also purchased when India bought Rafale. Its biggest feature is that it can be used day and night and in any season. Its GPS is so strong and accurate that it explains the specific target accurately. Another feature of this is that when it is left, it flies close to the ground instead of the sky, which does not catch the enemy’s radar and can reach the target rapidly. It attacks the target and does not harm the surrounding environment.
For this reason, the Scalp missile was chosen.
1. India’s biggest goal was to destroy terrorist launchpads of Pakistan and PoK without crossing the international border. This required long distance and GPS-directed missile. Storm shadow missile has a firepower of 560 km. It can be easily fired by Rafael on the target. There is no need to enter the air defense sector for this. This also causes work and pilots and aircraft are also safe.
2. The design of this missile is very special. Due to its aerodynamic and flat shape, the radar cross section of this missile is minimal. Because of this, the enemy’s radar did not get any information about this missile. In addition, the outer part of this missile is made of material that absorbs infrared waves. Due to this, enemies cannot detect this missile through infrared waves. Because of this, the enemy does not know until the missile goes on the target.
3. This long -range missile has many techniques that make it special. First, it has an inertial navigation system that guides the initial path during firing. It also has GPS which continues to update the target space. This is followed by the terrain profile matching, which makes the map of the terrain and determines the direction, height and speed of its path based on it. It has an electro-optical terminal guidance system that attacks the target by matching the target image at the last moments of attacking the target. It targets the right target. Because of this, vehicles, bunkers, small locations and secret places can be easily targeted.
4. In the end and most importantly, this missile attacks in two stages. The first part of it destroys the outer structure of any goal. It also destroys strong structures made of steel, iron or concrete. Then another part inside becomes active, which destroys all the devices inside this structure. As a result, this missile is usually used to penetrate the goals hidden under the ground.
