IMD weather alert : The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm and lightning alert in eastern India. IMD has said that a new round of heatstroke can begin tomorrow in eastern India. Apart from this, there may be thunderstorms and rains in northwest and central India for the next five days. There is a possibility of thunder and heavy rains in Northeast India till May 11. Along with this, in Gujarat too, strong winds and thunderstorms have been expected to cause shower.

Temperature will increase in May, relief from rain will get relief

Meteorological Director General Mrityunjay Mahapatra said that in May, temperatures in most parts of the country may remain higher than normal, but rain can provide relief from heat. This time most parts of the country are expected to receive more than normal rainfall, although some areas of northwest, central and northeast India may remain free from it.

Unbearable heat estimate in Uttar Pradesh

After the completion of strong winds and medium rains in Uttar Pradesh, sunlight and hot winds are now running. Now the people of the state will have to face unbearable heat in the month of May. The Meteorological Department says that the effect of western disturbance will be seen in Uttar Pradesh, where the weather is expected to be dry for a few days in other places except some districts. Then the temperature will gradually increase.

Rain alert in Gujarat too

Gujarat weather forecast: Talking about Gujarat, on Thursday, 10 districts of the state are expected to have heavy rains with thunderstorms. Orange alert has been issued at Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Aravali, Dahod, Mahisagar, Rajkot, Morbi, Kutch. According to Meteorological Department data, the highest rainfall in the state was recorded at Bawla in Ahmedabad between 10 am and 12 noon on Wednesday (7 May 2025), where there was 2.24 inches in the last 6 hours and more than 4 inches in Khambhat. The unseasonal rains in the state have suffered heavy losses to agricultural crops due to unseasonal rains.
