Actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay was spotted at the Madurai airport in Tamil Nadu on Monday, and a sea of fans gathered outside the airport to catch one glimpse of the star. Amongst them, an elderly fan managed to breach the security and get close to the actor, but Vijay’s guards were seen threatening him with a gun.

In a shocking video that has now gone viral, Vijay can be seen getting off his car and entering the airport, and that is when the elderly fan freed him from the guards and ran up to the actor. However, Vijay’s bodyguards pounced on the fan and heckled him, and one of them was even seen pointing a gun right at the man’s face.

While the commotion ensued, Vijay made his way inside the airport surrounded by his security detail.

As the video was circulated online, some supported Vijay’s guards and slammed the fan for breaching security, while others criticised the actor for not even sparing a look at the fan who was heckled mercilessly.

This is not the first time that fans have gone out of their way to meet the actor. A few days ago, during a TVK rally, fans of Vijay were seen jumping from trees and climbing the roof of his vehicle, only to catch one glimpse.

On the film front, Vijay will be next seen in his 69th film, titled Jana Nayagan, and if reports are to be believed, it will be his last film, and post its release, he has decided to quit acting for good, to focus on his political career.

On the political front, his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) is gearing up for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, and Vijay will reportedly contest independently, without forming any alliance with the AIADMK.
