New Delhi: The Supreme Court, while hearing a case, reprimanded the Central Investigation Agency ED and said that the ED has become a pattern to accuse without proof. We have seen this in many ED cases. The Supreme Court made this comment during the hearing of the bail plea of Arvind Singh, accused in the Chhattisgarh liquor scam.

A bench of Justice Abhay S Oak and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan said that we have seen many complaints from the ED, alleging without evidence has become a pattern.

Arvind Singh, accused in the Chhattisgarh liquor scam, appealed for bail in the Supreme Court, during which the Additional Solicitor General SV Raju Raju Raju, who appeared on behalf of the ED, failed to present evidence of the allegations against Arvind Singh. Arvind Singh was accused of receiving Rs 40 crore from the scam, although no evidence could be produced. After which the Supreme Court reprimanded the ED.

The lawyer of accused Arvind Singh argued that Arvind has spent 10 months in custody, while the ED has filed the main and three additional chargesheets in the case and the investigation is still going on. 21 people have been accused in this case. This includes documents of over 25,000 pages and statements of more than 150 witnesses. While the ED argued that bail cannot be granted based on the number of pages of documents. This is a scam of Rs 2000 crore, the arrest of accused Arvind Singh has not yet been a year.

Later, Supreme Court Judge Abhay S.K. Ok. He clarified that there is no provision in the law that one year custody is necessary to grant bail. However, the ED continued to protest against bail, later Judge Abhay S OK increased the pressure on the ED to present the pressure to present the evidence that these are very common allegations, what are you evidence that they get Rs 40 crore from this scam? You have no evidence to prove the allegations against the accused. We have seen many such complaints from the ED in which a pattern has come out in which allegations are made without any concrete evidence. Later lawyers appeared on behalf of ED. The Solicitor General sought more time. Now further hearing will be held on Friday.
