News India Live, Digital Desk: Cricketer Shivalik Sharma: Former Mumbai Indians cricketer and Baroda all -rounder Shivalik Sharma was arrested by the Rajasthan Police on Monday (May 5) on charges of rape. The 26 -year -old cricketer is alleged to have made physical relations with false promises of marriage to a woman.
Woman lodged a complaint
The victim complained about the case at Kudi Bhagatasani police station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. According to the complaint, two years ago, both met in Vadodara, after which there was a close relationship between them. The woman alleges that Shivalik Sharma made a false promise of marriage and established physical relations with her.
Court sent judicial custody
After the arrest, Shivalik Sharma was produced in the court, from where he was sent to judicial custody. The police is investigating the case.
Who is Shivalik Sharma?
Shivalik Sharma is a left -handed batting all -rounder and plays for Baroda in domestic cricket. He made his debut in domestic cricket in 2018. So far he has played 18 first class matches, scoring a total of 1087 runs. Apart from this, he has scored 322 runs in 13 List A matches and 349 runs in 19 T20 matches. In bowling too, he has taken three wickets from Legbreak Gugli in home matches.
Shivalik was associated with Mumbai Indians
Shivalik Sharma was bought by Mumbai Indians at a base price of Rs 20 lakh before the IPL 2023 season. However, he did not get a chance to play in a match. He was released by the franchise before the mega auction in November.
