In a historic moment, Shah Rukh Khan became the first Indian male actor to attend the MET Gala on Tuesday. And another Indian to attend the coveted event was none other than Priyanka Chopra Jonas, although it was her fifth time. While netizens waited with bated breaths to see the two cross paths at the event, what grabbed eyeballs was the uncanny connection between their regal looks.

SRK was dressed head-to-toe in black Sabyasachi, with layers and layers of jewellery and a signature Bengal Tiger walking stick. PeeCee, on the other hand, made heads turn in a retro-coded white ensemble with black polka dots.

While people gushed over their looks, ardent fans of the once rumoured couple were transported straight back to 2007 when the two donned very similar outfits and attended a polo event in Delhi. “SRK & Priyanka were definitely on theme for each other, is this some kind of code language that only they can understand? (sic),” a netizen wrote on Reddit.

“Blast from the past on another level,” another user said, while one commented, “This is the only logical reason I am willing to accept for his look (sic).”

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh broke the internet as he posed for the paparazzi at MET Gala 2025, thus adding another feather to his cap. He walked the grand steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a custom-made tailored suit by Sabyasachi, keeping in tandem with the ‘Black Dandyism’ theme of the event.

What caught the eyes of fans was the dramatic K dangling on chest, symbolising the title ‘King’, bestowed upon him by his fans across the globe. He also flaunted another diamond-encrusted necklace with his initials ‘SRK’.

Priyanka, on the other hand, went for a white look for the MET Gala 2025, and she twinned with husband Nick Jonas as they together arrived for the event. The actress wore a white halter-neck gown by Olivier Rousteing of luxury fashion house Balmain, adorned with black polka dots. She took her ensemble to the next level with a dramatic oversized black hat.

On the film front, Shah Rukh and Priyanka first shared the screen in 2006 in the film, Don, and their sizzling chemistry became the talk of the town. It was followed by PeeCee’s special appearances in Om Shanti Om and Billu. They last collaborated on screen in the 2011 film, Don 2.
