The fierce fire in the five -storey building on Sunday night in Gandhi Nagar, Chaman Ganj area of Kanpur shocked everyone. Five members of the same family were trapped in this building, including husband and wife and three of their children. All the bodies have been recovered after eight hours of rescue work.

More than a dozen fire engines reached the spot at night and tried to control the fire in the building, but the situation could be controlled only after 8 hours of hard work. According to DCP Dinesh Tripathi, two people were admitted to the hospital but they did not give any information about their condition.
The DCP said that the situation will be clear only after medical examination. He said that three people were trapped in the building, but now it is learned that all five members of the family trapped in the building have died.
The fire started due to a short circuit and spread throughout the building.
According to the information received so far, there was a shoe factory on the ground floor of the building and people lived on the upper floors. It is being told that the fire was caused by a short circuit, which took the entire building in a short time. Police and fire officers are present at the scene and are monitoring the rescue operations.

The SDRF team was also called from Lucknow to expedite the rescue work. Taking cognizance of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the district administration and fire party to immediately reach the spot and speed up relief work.
