Turkish warship reached Karachi: 26 people were killed in a terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, tension between India and Pakistan has been at its peak. While the Indian Navy is conducting naval exercises, TCG Buyukada, a Turkish warship, has reached the Karachi port of Pakistan, which is considered an important step towards increasing maritime cooperation between the two countries.
According to the Pakistani Navy, “It aims to increase professional coordination and strategic cooperation between Pakistani and Turkish Navy.” On reaching Karachi, the Turkish warship was welcomed by Pakistani and Turkish officials.
During TCG Buyukada’s stay in Karachi, its crew members will participate in various commercial activities along with Pakistani Navy officials. This development is important for India, as Delhi is formulating a strategy to respond to Pakistan’s terrorist attacks, such defense connectivity can create new concerns about regional balance.
