News India Live, Digital Desk: Union Water Power Minister CR Patil rejected the bouquets and souvenirs sent to the reception during a conference of investors held in Surat, Gujarat. The minister clearly stated that unless the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir is avenged, they will not be a part of any kind of reception.
During the program, the organizers announced that the minister’s decision shows India’s commitment against terrorism. The people present in the meeting expressed support on this statement of the organizers. Later, Minister Patil also repeated the same thing in Gujarati language, and said, “I will not be welcome until Pahalgam is taken revenge.”
Patil’s statement came at a time when terrorists in Pahalgam brutally murdered 26 people, including tourists at Basarn Maidan on 22 April. After this terrorist attack, India has taken strict action against Pakistan. India not only suspended the Indus Water Treaty, but also banned trade with Pakistan, canceled Pakistanis’ visas, and cut diplomatic relations.
Patil had earlier also said in vigorous words that India will no longer let a single drop of water towards Pakistan. The tension between India and Pakistan is constantly increasing, and the Indian government has given clear indications that it is committed to strict action against terrorism.
