In this video, Sonu Nigam is seen comparing it to a fan’s behavior with the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, due to which the controversy is getting deeper.

An organization called Karnataka Raksha Vedic has filed a police complaint against Sonu Nigam regarding this statement. The complaint stated that Sonu Nigam compared the request to sing Kannada by a fan to a serious terrorist incident. This hurt the sentiments of the Kannada community. In the video, Sonu Nigam says, “I felt bad when a young boy insisted on singing Kannada. This kind of behavior is the root of events like Pahalgam. See who stands in front of you.” This statement of Sonu Nigam has become a center of criticism on social media. Many users described it as an insult to language and regional identity.

However, Sonu Nigam also clarified from the stage that he respects Kannada language and the people there. He said that he has sung many Kannada songs before, but force and aggression make him uncomfortable. However, the Karnataka Defense Vedika (KRV) has demanded action, calling Sonu Nigam’s statement insensitive and inflammatory. He says that connecting a common cultural issue with a terrorist incident is not only unfair, but also affects the image of the Kannada community.
