Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Power has taken a big step to promote green energy in the country. Chhote Ambani’s company Reliance NU Stec has signed a 25 -year agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). Under this, the company will provide 930 MW solar energy and 465 MW/1,860 MW-Genta Battery Storage System (BESS). It will be Asia’s largest solar-BESS project.

Investment of 10000 Crore

Reliance Power will complete the project within the next 24 months. For this, the company will invest Rs 10,000 crore. Electricity from this project will be made available at the rate of Rs 3.53 per kWh (KWH). It is the largest and most important green energy deal in the country. The company will establish more than 1,700 MW solar power capacity to provide 930 MW of electricity. It will also have a modern battery storage system, which will ensure stable power supply.

 

Seci auction

The project was given to Reliance NU Satech in the Trench XVII auction of SECI in December 2024. In the auction, Reliance won the 930 MW solar capacity and the highest bid of 465 MW/1,860 MW BESS. Five major power companies participated in this auction. He invited tenders for 2000 MW solar and 1000 MW/4000 MW-hour BESS capacity. Reliance Power has given SECI performance bank guarantee (PBG) of Rs 378 crore. The company completed the auction, prize and contract work within five months.

Important contribution to the country’s green energy

Reliance Power has said that this project is a big step. The company said in a statement, ‘This is an important part of our strategy. We are committed to working towards clean energy in the country. The project will help achieve renewable energy goals of the country. Apart from this, it will also increase energy storage facilities in the country. Apart from power generation, this project will also help in stabilizing the grid. Solar energy can be used through the battery storage system if required.

 

Reliance Power’s shares rise

After the news of investment of Rs 10,000 crore, the shares of Anil Ambani’s company Reliance Power are jumping. The company’s shares closed at Rs 39.98 on Thursday. The stock opened at Rs 40.75 at the beginning of the trading session on Friday. During the trading, the stock touched the highest level of Rs 41.54. After the increase in shares, the company’s market cap has increased to Rs 16,317 crore.
