Actress Gehana Vasisth, a contestant on the reality show House Arrest hosted by Ajaz Khan, reacted to the controversy that erupted after a clip went viral on social media showing Ajaz asking contestants to enact sex positions on camera. Defending the show amid backlash, she stated that she has been receiving numerous calls demanding a ban on House Arrest for spreading vulgarity. However, she questioned the hypocrisy, asking why no action is taken against people who watch porn websites day and night.
She said, Jab Priyanka Chopra Hollywood mein jaake nude scenes karti hai, ya Radhika Apte Sacred Games mein topless scene karti hai, ya Mandakini ne bohot pehle kuch bold scenes kiye the, tab aapko nahi lagta ki samaj mein ashleelta fail rahi hai?”

Gehana shared that if Netflix showcases such content, it’s considered fine, and even when Hollywood features Indian actresses in nude or topless scenes, it’s accepted—but when people like her, coming from small towns, try to create a show on their own, they are questioned and accused of promoting vulgarity.
“Wah! Kya hypocrisy hai!,” said the actress.
Gehana shared that she was not pressured to be a part of the show; in fact, she participated entirely of her own will and felt completely comfortable doing so.
“Saare contestants bhi comfortable hain; sab 18+ hain; aur sab apni marzi se show kar rahe hain. Toh isme Ajaz Khan aur Ullu kahaan se aa gaye? Show mein toh saari activities hum log hi kar rahe hain, koi hume force nahi kar raha,” she added.
She urged everyone to watch it as a reality show, an entertainment show, rather than expecting to educate themselves or learn something from it.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued summons to Ajaz Khan and Vibhu Agarwal, CEO of Ullu App, following the circulation of a disturbing clip from the streaming platform’s reality show House Arrest.
“The nature of these acts, if proven true, may attract serious penal provisions under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000,” the Commission noted. Notices have been served to both Khan and Agarwal to appear before the Commission on May 9, 2025.
