News India Live, Digital Desk: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to resort to Israeli agricultural techniques to provide technical assistance in vegetable production. Under this, a fruit excellence center in Kaushambi and a Vegetable Excellence Center in Chandauli will be set up. Along with this, 150 state -of -the -art supertec nurseries are being built in the state, from where farmers will get high quality plants and modern technology.
These schemes have been approved by the Central Government, which will cost about one lakh crore rupees. The implementation of these schemes will improve food security in the state and will encourage sustainable agriculture. The Yogi government is also promoting sprinkler and drip irrigation to improve irrigation techniques. Under this, small, marginal and other farmers in drip irrigation will get subsidy up to 80 percent against the unit cost. At the same time, 75 percent subsidy will be provided to small and marginal farmers for sprinkler irrigation and 65 percent to other farmers.
According to Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural External Affairs and Agricultural Export Department, it has been targeted to double the income of farmers with Israeli techniques. Under this scheme, there are plans to produce about 26 crore plants, which will increase both quality and quantity of vegetables, and their value will also increase in the market.
The state government is encouraging the establishment of farmers producing organizations (FPOs) to ensure better price, loan facility and access to the market. This will increase the income of small and marginal farmers. Farmers will get information about advanced seeds, organic products, crop safety techniques, water management and marketing from these excellence centers and supertec nurses. This will result in low production costs and increase in profit.
The state government is trying in three different ways to promote organic and natural farming, which will also benefit the environment. These schemes of the central government will play an important role in improving the economic condition of farmers and strengthening the rural economy of the state.
